چکیده
Abstract Quambalaria shoot blight (QSB) has emerged recently as a severe disease of Corymbia calophylla (marri). In this study, QSB damage and growth were assessed in trees at 4 6 years age two common gardens consisting 165 170 open-pollinated families representing 18 provenances across the species’ natural distribution. There significant differences between for all traits. The narrow-sense heritability traits both sites low to moderate. genetic correlation was negative; fast-growing less damaged by disease. Age-age correlations individual four six very strong, type-B (site–site) strongly positive Provenances from cooler wetter regions showed higher resistance QSB. incidence significantly correlated with environmental factors provenance’s origin. not expression 3-month-old seedlings. Based on these results, selection could be undertaken using 4-year-old trees. is potential breeding program develop populations marri genetically diverse resistant

An Update on Genetic Resistance of Chickpea to Ascochyta Blight
Ascochyta blight (AB) caused by Ascochyta rabiei (Pass.) Labr. is an important and widespread disease of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) worldwide. The disease is particularly severe under cool and humid weather conditions. Breeding for host resistance is an efficient means to combat this disease. In this paper, attempts have been made to summarize the progress made in identifying resistance sour...

available genetic variation for ascochyta blight resistance in genus cicer has prompted interest in the development and use of autumn sown resistant chickpea cultivars. a thorough understanding of the mode of inheritance of resistance to ascochyta blight in chickpea would assist the breeding efforts. in order to determine the number of genes, as well as to evaluate heritability and action of ge...
متن کاملMapping and Expression Analysis of a Fusarium Head Blight Resistance Gene Candidate Pleiotropic Drug Resistance 5 (PDR5) in Wheat
Fusarium head blight (FHB) caused by Fusarium graminearum is a serious disease of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), through which grain quality losses are induced by fungal trichotecene mycotoxins such as deoxynivalenol (DON). A class of plasma membrane localized ABC transporter proteins related to the yeast PDR5 (pleiotropic drug resistance5) efflux pump seems to be responsible for partial resista...
متن کاملMapping and validation of QTLs for rice sheath blight resistance
Sheath blight, caused by Rhizoctonia solani, is one of the most serious diseases of rice. Among 33 rice accessions, mainly from National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS) Core Collection, we found three landraces from the Himalayas-Jarjan, Nepal 555 and Nepal 8-with resistance to sheath blight in 3 years' field testing. Backcrossed inbred lines (BILs) derived from a cross between Jarj...

Using resistant cultivars is an effective method in management Zymoseptoria tritici Blotch and Fusarium Head Blight of wheat. This study was conducted to identify new sources of resistance to these diseases among a large number of Iranian cultivars and new wheat genotypes. The genotypes were cultivated in an augment design in the research farm of Aliabad Katoul Agricultural School. Artificial c...
